Thinking about going self employed.. I am just completing my last year of college but have 3 years salon experience. If anyone has advice on the best products/courses to invest in... I currently do lycon waxing, eyelash/brow tinting, mani, pedi, shellac, fake bake.
I am keen to do extra courses for gel extensions, HD brows, semi permanent lashes and LVL lashes as these are big on the market just now...
I do not have an existing client base so any tips or starting up or advice on where to start would be appreciated!!

Many people start doing clients around work hours to build up a client base and then leave their employed jobs :)

Would love to! I just don’t have the space at home!

Are you planning on working mobile initially or renting a room?
My advice is to not be a “Jack of all trades, Master of none”.
I’d recommend holding off spending money on extra courses and wait until you have built up more experience and a decent client base before investing in extra products, equipment and training.
Focus on developing expertise on a few areas and become known as the ‘go to’ therapist for those specific services.

Well you could go to them. It can take a long time to build a clientele up, so just be aware.

My main issue with going to them would be having to wait on the wax heating whilst there!

I think my beautician used to offer nails etc first and then waxing got added in so it could heat up while the nails are being done.
I was only saying because I went self employed and it's taken about 4 years for me to get properly fully booked because there's so much competition :)
