Ok, we are getting a new puppy hopefully beginning of September, they are ready mid August but we'll be going on holiday for 2 weeks then so the breeder has kindly agreed to hang on to it until we get back.

We are really struggling with a name...... We are hoping for a boy so are mainly trying to think of boy names. We dont want anything common like patch, trixie, golidie etc etc......more something unusual lol.

My husband has come up with all sorts of weird and wonderful names like 'Voodoo' 'Hendrix' 'Moose' and to top it off......... Warren!!! PMSL!!!

I like things like 'Humphrey' 'Mojo' 'Munch' 'Duster' Lol....

HELP, the puppies are due in 9 days time!! to give you an idea of what the dog will look like, i've attached a pic of a puppy and one fully grown, its an alaskan Malamute and they are like Huskies (snow dogs)

I am a bit wierd when I comes to naming pets as I have no imagination. But what about Juneau (Alaskas capital).

I like squinty. On looks like it is squinting.

ok thanks, how do you pronounce that? lol

We've been trawling the web for names of inuit and eskimo names and everything that comes up is about a foot long and we would never be able to call it! lol

my dad likes 'Woof' but we'd get carted off by men in white coats if we were shouting that over the park!

we've also come up with 'Gizmo' 'Frodo' 'Bilbo' 'Griffin' 'Hot dog' (I love that but he doesnt think you can call a dog Hot dog, says you'd have all the kids round you!)

Keep 'em coming....

Just how it is spelt. Squinty. Like it is squinting. SQUIN-TEE.

This is the one he thought looked like a 'warren' PMSL!!

Not too sure...confession time......I looked it up on the internet. It looked good though.

Confession time again, my dh imforms now me that he thinks the Capital of Alaska is Anchora!!! Not a good name to should out when you want your dog to return to you.

What about ALASKA... tadaaa!

Anchorage is the capital of Alaska. (kindly supplied by PC 4784 PULLEN!) LOL, boyfriend thinks he's clever now. :green:

Anchora I think is in Turkey.

How about a town from 'Siberia' (he is a siberian husky after all)
Capital of siberia is NOVOSIBIRSK,
so how about NOVO? thats boyish, and good I think... :green:

I must have misheard DH. He is an ex travel agent and general know it all, very rarely wrong, unlike my goodself.

I am now of to search for the capital of Siberia. Back soon...

Not a very successful search. Kost of the cities have very long names, but Tomsk is there. Wasn't Tomsk a womble?

i like Warren it suits him xxx

PSML haha, dunno, didnt watch wombles, but can you imagine the kids trying to pronounce it? haha

DIDN'T WATCH THE WOMBLES!!!! Shame on you.

Under ground over ground, wombling free......

yeah I know the song, off by heart cos my lil sister did a play at school and I couldnt get away from it! LOL

I have a girlfriend with one of those dogs.....they call him Bear.....because he's as big as one !

I grew up with a samoyed husky.. GORGEOUS.. all white except his orange tipped ears. :green:

Ok, here's my odd list of choices lol

-Snowman (snowy for short)
-Ice
-Iceman lol
-Fang (lol from the book, Jack London I believe, maybe not)
-Gund (as in Gund teddybears, they feel like husky fur and husky's are just great big teddy bears cause they're sooo sweet and affectionate and usually great with kids)
-Digger (gonna warn you now ALL huskys/samoyed's etc DIG and there's no way of breaking them of it. It's in their nature and genetics. they dig in winter to keep warm in the snow and dig in summer to stay cool in the dirt)
-Blue (if he has blue eyes, which they often do)
-Parka (cause you need a parka to visit their natural home, and if you wear a husky around your body, just as good as a parka LOL)
-Neige (french word for snow)
-Bear (cause they're big ol' teddybears ;-)
-Bonhomme (french name of the Quebec 'mascot' for winter carnival, he's a snowman.. pronounced 'bun-num')
-Furrball (and let me tell ya, your vacuum is gonna be CLOGGED!!!! Those suckers shed furrballs the size of kittens LOL)

ok, that's all the fun names I can think of for the time being LOL I like to be original. My cat's name is "Rain" cause we got him when it was raining and adopted him from the street LOL
My dog's name is "George" cause I used to have him AND his sister, and the two personalities made me think of "George & Gracie" as in the "George Burns & Gracie Allen" comedy show.. (very likely before your time, I know it was before mine lol)

Hope this helps, or at the very least, provides amusement hehe

Now please don't take this as an insult in any way shape or form, but just in case, have you read up on this breed and know what you're getting in for?
They are HIGH maintenance dogs that need to RUN every day... among other things.
Let me know if you need info, I can get it for you. I had one.. speaking from experience here LOL

And dont know what your winters are like, but we get BURIED in snow in Quebec. Our dog used to pull us on a sled as kids.. He had a harness and everything. We had to hide it somewhere in the basement during summer months or he'd drag it banging up the stairs wanting to pull us outside.. and well.. no snow in summer and he'd get all dissappointed LOL
But pretty sure yo could rig one up with wheels, right?:wink2: Most fun way to exercise a dog like that LOL

hugs and can't wait to see pics of your puppy.
