Hi, I've been going through this website for a while looking at other threads and i was hoping someone could give me some advice.

i'm currently renting a table in a salon that already has 2 other nail techs and i feel like i'm hitting my head against a brick wall because i feel like i cant compete with there years of expeirance. i'm not getting any bookings i've done leaflet drops, adverts in local papers and i've now come to my end because unless i cant afford to keep advertising when i'm not getting any clients. i've got one this week! nobody walks past so theres no walkins even though there is shops all around there isnt another beauty place.

i've been thinking i'd love to be closer to the city centre but cant find a room to rent, i really dont want to go back to mobile.

sorry if its a bit long, but i was wondering can it work with 3 self empolyed nail techs in one place because i dont think i can.

Don't be too hard on yourself... I know it must be very hard when you're fairly new and very intimidating when the other girls have more experience.

Have you thought of maybe working from home, just for a little while and start of doing friends nails and slowly building a clientele that way.

We all had to start somewhere, are you happy with your training and product?.. maybe do a refresher course, just to build your confidence back up.

Good luck x:hug:

Just another thought.. you don't need a room anywhere as such.. just a space.

I'm sure there must be plenty of hair salons around that would rent you a space and they are usually very busy and hopefully you will be too.

i'd love to work from home but theres is really no room, still at home, 5 of us in a 3 bed house! really no room.

ps. i want a room beause i feel i'm better at facials and massages

I have also been in same situation, sat watching other techs being busy and no walk in's so no chance of building up any clients, i moved to another salon with no other nail tech and soon built up my client list, i am sure a better opportunity is just around the corner, good luck
