I washed off with just water after 3 hrs and there was no colour on my skin at the time, eight hours later I was tanned! I loved the colour and the product but it seems like that's not how it was meant to work.

How long has it taken for you all to get your samples ?
i have emailed for a sample, not had one and not even had a reply to my email

I sprayed a client last night with Aviva Express (as a trial with her permission).

She showered-off the colour guide after exactly 3 hours - at midnight! She's delighted with the result this morning and has likened it to her usual Fake Bake Darker. However, I was very disappointed to hear her describe parts of her feet and parts of her hands looking like they've been pebbledashed. Unfortunately we were unable to get together today so I could see the results for myself - hope to over the weekend though.

I had noticed that the consistency of Aviva Express is thicker than my usual Fake Bake solutions, but thought I'd adjusted my gun accordingly.

My usual technique for hands and feet is to apply a light mist, holding the gun about 8-10 inches away (rather than 6 inches as per over the rest of the body). Clearly this technique didn't work with Aviva Express, but can you think of why it wouldn't have?

Thanks
xx

It came out of my gun slightly splogy looking (spotty really) but I had spoken to my machine supplier about this previously and they said to turn my gun up slightly and spray closer so this is what I did on my sister last night. Did it perhaps come out that way on her hands and feet? I imagine it may make a difference if it did?

I haven't managed to speak to my sister yet today but I spoke to my B-I-L and he said that she said it was a good colour although slightly more subtle than usual, no mention of sploges. She left it on for 2 hours and then washed it off and let it develop as she normally does. I have been working on the assumption that leaving for an hour would be 8%, 2 hours 10% 3 hours 12% but reading these posts I have decided that perhaps that is wrong. I only left it on for an hour when I did it on myself so that may be why it didn't seem to develop much (or at all) I may have to redo the entire experiment! Very irritating! I'll let you know what she says herself and whether she used any shower gel when she washed it off yesterday if she ever gets back to me!:)

Hi All,
I got a sample last week, I did a patch test on my arm.
Washed each off at 1 hour, 2 hour, and 3 hours.
1 hour very pale, but continued to deepen to a nice light tan.
2 hour deeper tan when washed off, but did go deeper than 1 hour tan.
3 hour test, definatley darker, and went even browner.
I am sure that it says it will continue to deepen after wash off, but the deepness depend on how long it has been on the skin.
They do send a brochure out with the sample.
I will have my legs done and report back........but I am leaving it 3 hours on both legs, so no one get smart and ask me to wash one off after one hour
I think the rep may not have read the brochure properly.
Yes it is instant drying, no stickyness.
Lotsa luv x x x   x x x

I have just done the same patch test, I chose my whitest area (one that never gets tanned!), shook bottle and did 2 largish patch tests. I washed the first one off at 1 hr 10 mins and that revealed nothing, not even a tinge of colour. I'm now waiting for the 3 hours to see if there is anything on the second one.

I thought i'd try this solution again but on totaly untanned skin to see if it would react differently to a girl with a tan as my friend that I sprayed with this solution (same sample btw) did not change colour at all after 3 hours but when I spray her with a normal 10% she goes several shades darker.

Did I get a duff sample?! lol

Or maybe I'll wake up looking rather odd if it continues to develop overnight - the patch tests were quite large

Hi peeps,
has anyone used /using viva express spray tan? the guide colour can be washed off after 1 hr for a lite tan or left to develop for up to 3 hrs for a darker tan, sounds like a miracle to me!

Lol...from the science of things to do with spray tanning the skin there is no such thing..this is simply marketing :)

Any solution if washed off the skin at different stages of the development process will produce a lighter-darker staining of the skin.

Of course a spray tan tan will be darker if left on for 3 hrs as opposed to 1 hr

Of course with the brand I use..(which will remain a secrete)you can paint it on strait from the tin with just a gentle stirring(no need for all this shaking about nonsense)and your dark as dark can be instantly,no initial colour guide to wash off and no woodworm for 25yrs guaranteed :lol::lol:

I washed the 3 hour test off before bed - nothing on skin but this morning they have both developed both very pale and not much difference between the two

Louise a sample has been sent out to you. I will get another sent out Monday for you!

What soap products are the rest of you using when you say its washed off and not developed at all!?!

I no longer use my regular solutions on my clients as they all have moved on to the express solution as they prefer not to wait around for the tan to develop. Word of mouth alone has increased my client base by around 5 a week. I charge £25 a tan and have been doing 2-3 girls in one go with it. Out of about 45 - 50 tans only 2 have said it didnt take after washing it off an hour later. One used palmolive shower gel and the other dove.

As I said before though not every tan solution suits every client if they did there would not be so much choice. My clients are loving it though and its a little bit of a pain as my other solutions are not being used at the minute and I am scared there going to go off before my next teaching session.

Its also a bonus for me as most techs in my area charge £15 or less for a tan and I refuse to work for that. This solution has enabled me to charge what I want and increase my client base. I am very new to the area so my client base was small to begin with. The daft thing is I advertised the express on my website at £15 for the month of July and no one has seen that as they all pay the £25 as they came from recommendations. Crap products would not get recommendations. I also do not advertise as the other side of my business takes up too much of my time.

I have a lot of people out there using this product and I am sure they won't mind you calling them to see how they are getting on with it.

It can go on speckly but this depends on what kind of gun you have and how high it is turned up. The speckly appearance evens out within about half an hour.

How it works is by in large a secret, i do know but would be in heaps of trouble for telling! Sorry! I can say its designed by biochemists and not your average spray tan manufacturer!!

I have my sample now, it arrived yesterday,
no need to post out another one hun but thanks that you were going to,
i am been sprayed with it this evening and i am very pale so we will see what result i get,
i don't use any of the above soaps so should be fine.

Not sure why it took so long to get to you! Glad its arrived safely, see I do read my e-mails and action them I just struggle writing back to everyone because I get so many, I am sure you know what I mean!!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend x

Hiya I emailed a couple of week back for a sample and didn't get one and havent heard anything will try again :)

I think if you make a statement it should be backed up with how it works ...no matter who develops it ..otherwise its all simply sales hype

I sprayed myself with my regular tanning solution last night, only left it on for 2 hours as I wanted to have a shower before bed and it developed the same as it normally would when I leave it on for 4-6 hours....so its not just the Aviva Express that works in quick time!

I'm thinking that it probably does work for any solution because once you have sprayed someone the DHA is penetrating the skin anyways and so even if you wash your usual solution off after 3 hours you are still leaving the DHA in the skin aren't you?

Rest assured DHA develops at the rate at which the skin on which it is applied takes...everyone's development time is different....there is no one solution known to mankind that develops any different...claims that it does anything other is simply sales talk marketing and absolute nonsense.
HTH

it could have a transdermal delivery system, similer to what is found in medication (my BF is a chemist). If it did have this ingrediant, then the DHA would be delivered into the skin quicker, thus letting you wash it off quicker and to achieve the same tone as you would normally have if you left it on for 8 hours. This is am told what Vani-t's new 1 hour tan has it in. Hth x

Pretty much it ~ although there is an ingredient that helps the DHA work quicker too in the solution.

I have spoke to my own chemist that develops my own personal tan solutions and he has explained how it would work, and so has Aviva Labs.

The fact some people claim it as 'nonsense' are scared that the solution will be competition and whilst it will be, and whilst other companies will come up with similar products it isnt in anyway going to deem all other products null and void! The solution is a great solution to have alongside your current range and charge a premium for if your clients wish to use this solution to save sitting around for 8 hours.

It is my most popular treatment at the minute, but I still have other ranges that I use and that some people will prefer over the 1 hour tan!

Suppose the really test is with your clients as they pay for the service and I have lots of people with lots of repeat clients paying more than they would for a basic tan and paying this every week.

In this economic climate if I can make an extra tenner a tan I am all for it! And no it probably won't work for every single person but for those that it does work for and loving it as they no longer need to sit around waiting for it to develop or plan their lives/nights out to coincide with their tan. Its a win win situation all round!

I totally agree, am just waiting for samples from my tanning brand:). If it was all just hype, you would think trading discriptions or something would get involved. At the end of the day tanning technology is moving forward. I am sooo glad hehe x

I was sprayed with this last night at about 8.30pm,
the spray tech said it was a nightmare as could not see any guide colour or where it was going,
i could feel it on going my skin so knew i was covered correctly,
as i am very pale i was going to wash it off around 10.30pm,
 i fell asleep and didn't wake until 4am,
i was not getting a shower at this time so just went to bed,
i woke with very little colour, had a shower early this morning,
and i still don't look like i have a spray tan on, i get a darker result from the 5%,
wont be 24hrs until 8.30pm tonight though.
