Hi Frankie,

Just the same as toes! x

Got a text this morning from her to say that two nails have chips at the free edge. A day after 2nd application! About ready to scream. Never ever had this before. What do i do!?

The only time I have such constant issues with a client like this is when she was on an antidepressant for the menopause and didn't tell me as she was embarrassed to say she was on them! It was only when I said I'm sorry I can understand what the issue is if she is following all after as usually only issue is medication to which she then said actually I didn't tell u I was on these! Then I checked and they effect nails!
This may not be the case for u but thought worth mentioning as I was so upset for weeks!

I checked yesterday she wasn't on any medication.
It has really upset me I just feel bad that its not lasting for her and I am now beating myself up about it, doubting myself.

But just had a woman ring up who had her first application exactly a week ago with no chips or anything just regrowth and her French smile line has grown out a bit too. She loves it and is coming back on Saturday for another set of Gelicure. So I must be doing something right!

Sounds to me like a hidden factor she's not telling u about! I maybe wrong but if it was your technique it would be happening on all your clients. X

That's exactly what I thought. I can't afford to keep on applying it to her. I have done a free repair set on her already. I just hope it isn't my technique. Never before have i had anyone report back to me the next day to say its chipped. If ever they have had a chip its due to them snapping a nail. Or openly admitting they have picked which i tell them off for! Lol

Ah Frankie, I feel for you, we’ve all been there though (well most of us I’m sure) every now and again you get that one client who just can’t wear the product for whatever that reason may be and it dents your confidence massively, but just remember – all your other clients are fine! I always think that the first time they report a fault, then yes it could be my fault on that one occasion, but when it constantly occurs with the same client, then I think – I can’t repeatedly be making a mistake on that one client again and again when every other client is fine? The common factor here is ‘the client’.

If I was you I would advise her that this is not the norm and let her know the steps you have taken to check out the problem (e.g. checked lamps, checked product, checked with other clients) and as all is well at your end, you suspect that unfortunately the product just isn’t suited to her nails. It’s rare but sometimes it does happen. Then if you want you could kindly offer to soak off the product for her for no charge. If you offer another system, you could always recommend that she try that instead if you want to keep her as a customer? xx

Hi Frankie,

I totally agree with josheardown. I have had a couple of clients like this out of about 30 and I think it must just be their nails or their lifestyle. I always doubt myself too and start worrying about my application but then I see other clients who last for 3 weeks EVERY time with no chips at all. It's a good product but it's not magic.
